Every one of the 101 playable titles here can be embedded in somebody else's site with a single line of HTML. It is free, it needs no account and no permission, and there is nothing to ask us for.

That is the whole of it. The frame loads its own emulator, fetches the disk in pieces as it needs them, and runs the real software. Your page does not need to change its headers, load a script, or do anything else.

Where the snippet lives

Every title's page carries its own, sized to that machine's real screen — a compact Macintosh is 512×342 and a Power Macintosh is 800×600, so one size would letterbox most of them. Open any title and the snippet is near the bottom.

Things worth knowing

Keep allowfullscreen. The player offers a fullscreen button and hides it when the framing page has not granted permission. Drop the attribute and your visitors get a worse version than the one on this site.

It is not a video or a screenshot. The emulator runs in your visitor's browser, so the software is genuinely being operated rather than played back. Nothing is installed on their machine and nothing is uploaded from it.

The first start is the slow one. Disks are served in 256-kilobyte content-addressed pieces, so a returning visitor — and anyone who has opened another title of the same era — starts from cache.

No link back is required. It is appreciated and not demanded. If you would rather not link, embed it anyway.

What you may not embed

The same rule that governs this site governs the frames: nothing here is hosted if it is still sold, and every title carries a notice saying where it came from and on what footing. If a rightsholder asks for something to come down it comes down, and your embed will stop working with it. That is the honest trade for software of this age.
